In these days of wanting everything and getting it almost instantaneously we have become accustomed to not having to wait very long at all. We get same day service, directions and emails on our phones immediately. So when we do have to wait for something we want we have become impatient, frustrated and jittery. Being stuck in traffic, long lines at the cashier, waiting for out lattes in morning peak. It seems that luxury of instant gratification it has made us more spoiled and used to getting what we want when we want it. And when that doesn’t happen or there is a delay then all hell breaks loose. Patience is a virtue as they say so why cant we have more of that? Just because we don’t have it now it doesn’t mean we aren’t going to have it at all. It just means we get it when we are meant to get it. Patience doesn’t me no. It just means wait a moment. Maybe we need to practice this in our every day life. Not just when we get out lattes or in traffic or waiting on an email from a work colleague. Also we need to be patient in love. Diana Ross got it right when she said ‘ You can’t hurry love, you just have to wait.’ Maybe if we just take a breath while we do wait we can see clearer, be more at peace and maybe spend the time in a state of gratitude instead of huffing and puffing. Its not going to make life move faster! Patience can still bring you what you want. It may even feel better as it was worth the wait. The bible says love is patient and it is kind. So maybe, for those who are waiting, lets be patient with love and lets be kind. Kinder to our minds, hearts and our feelings. Maybe then, love will find you.
