That lovely time of the year has come around again. Where love is all around and the smell of roses lingers down the street of florists the world over. I often wonder about this day that is embedded in the minds and hearts of many. The expectation and wish that that someone special will show their love by means of a gesture. That gesture being flowers, chocolates, a romantic dinner somewhere, a nice piece of jewellery, perfume, the list goes on. Or for some very lucky ladies they may even get ‘a ring on it’. Now that is a valentines day. We all have mixed feelings about valentines day. Some don’t make fuss, a lot do. Why the pressure on this one particular day? For me, a man has 364 other days to express to you his feelings and his love and devotion. Getting a gift on a random day is so much sweeter than the expectation that he knows he has to deliver on Feb 14. A man can show his love anytime, anywhere and anyhow. So what is your ultimate Valentines Day date?
For me it would be a lovely picnic by the lake or a drive by the bay watching the sunset over a nice bottle of wine. Its the simple things that mean a lot. A girl would never say no to a little gift but the greatest gift for me would be my man by my side looking at the view ahead of us and watching the world go by.
For those who think love has failed them and don’t believe. You should always believe. For all is possible. For those who haven’t had a proper Valentines day date. I say date yourself. For if you don’t give to yourself how do you expect others to. It all starts with you. Make your own rules. Don’t get caught up in the hype. Valentines day can be any day. For that special someone could be closer than you think. You just don’t know it. To all the single ladies who hope, dream and know they are worthy of love. May your Mr Big find you someday. May all your days be filled with Valentines Day spirit.
To my Valentine. I can’t wait to see you.
